I grew up in Istanbul, playing basketball and guitar. I finished Cağaloğlu Anadolu High School, then studied sociology at Boğaziçi University.
Like most young people in Turkey, I thought a lot about politics, work, and why people think so differently. Sociology taught me to look at these questions from new angles.
Five years ago I moved to Munich for grad school. I finished two master’s degrees at TUM in parallel. One was about management and AI technology. The other was about the ethics and governance of technology, and what AI does to people and societies. I wrote my thesis on fake news: AI creates it, and AI detects it — but the two sides do not move at the same speed. That gap became my focus.
These days one thing fills my mind: AI is changing what we believe and how we think. Most of the writing here comes from that worry. It is a hard time to live in, but an exciting one. I read, watch, and dig for answers to questions that may have none.
In my free time I play basketball for FC Anadolu Bayern in Munich, watch chess, and ride my bike.
